My name is Ryan Bennett and I am a Hypertrophy Training Specialist.
I was once upon a time that skinny teenager who was insecure and very unhappy with my body.
Sure, I always had a 6-pack, but its easy to have a 6-pack when you're severely under weight.
I started weight training very young but I went about it the wrong way and made many mistakes.
I did high reps (30+), trained 2-3 times a day and was eating around 1500-2000 calories a day.
I was strong for my age but all that calorie deficit and high reps had me looking like a string bean.
After getting out of rehab when I was 19 (more about that later), I went full force back into weight training because I hadn't trained in years.
I am 6 foot 3 and weighed just under 70kg after rehab.
Within a year of training and being on a heavy bulk I hit 100kg. Now, not all of that was muscle, in fact if you ask my cousin, he'll tell you that I was fat.
So after a year long bulk I decided to do a 12 week comp prep (with no comp at the end). After 12 weeks I had trimmed off all the excess fat and was 90kg and roughly 6-7% body fat.
And that brings me to now.
